1 HR STEAM INCURSION

Ages 3 - 5

My Superpower

Explorers will learn how sound vibrations can create visual, auditory and even imperceptible impacts on the world around us. They will be shown how everyday objects have their own vibrations and frequencies.

Young explorers will be shown how every object has its own unique sound vibration and how each sound we hear or make can affect our feelings in different ways.

Explorers will then be encouraged to hypothesise and apply their investigative and creative skills to adapt these concepts in a variety of fun, interactive activities to create musical sounds that impact our feelings in different ways. These activities will include body percussion, vocal exercises, digital programs and more. Your students will collaborate to create enjoyable, musical melodies and explore how sounds can socially and emotionally impact themselves and the people around them.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Using a sensory approach, students investigate the characteristics of sound.

  • Students will explore how sounds are produced, transmitted and sensed

  • Students gain an understanding of how sound can impact us for good or bad

  • Students gain an understanding of how they can use different sounds to support their own feelings and emotions or those of people around them
